N&C partnered with Tiling Contractor, Apex Tiling Ltd on the installation of the impressive rooftop swimming pool at the Fulham FC Stadium. Considered a “European football stadium first” the rooftop pool overlooks the Thames and forms part of the redevelopment of the Riverside stand for the Premier League football team.

A quality finish was paramount reflected in product performance and installation, completed by Apex Tilers Ltd. It was crucial that this facility upgrade was delivered with a high-end finish to ensure it would match the premium environment of the stadium. Additionally, the swimming pool required products that can withstand constant water exposure and chemicals; therefore, the correct materials are essential to achieve a flawless and reliable performance.

N&C were able to meet contractor’s requirements through supplying Nicobond Starlike Extreme Performance Grout in Denim, an easy-to-use extreme performance grout that can also be used as a mortar. Blue mosaic tiles were selected for the entirety of the pool, and the denim grout complemented the tile colours perfectly, creating a seamless finish. Nicobond Starlike Extreme Performance Grout represents a new generation of high-performance resin-based grout using fine glass bead technology to provide a smoother finish. The grout is extremely hygienic, containing technology to eliminate bacteria and viruses, making it particularly suitable for this swimming pool installations. As an extreme performance grout, it is waterproof, stain, mould and acid resistant, as well as being easy to mix, apply and clean off.

For the project, a total of 80 x 2.5kg Starlike evo Extreme Performance Grout buckets were used throughout the installation, creating a consistent, high-quality, seamless finish across the entire swimming pool. N&C were up against a competing supplier but due to better product availability, confidence in product quality and performance and more competitive pricing the contract was awarded to Nicobond.
