Due to a planned upturn in business, we are recruiting for Production Operatives who will ideally have precious experience within a manufacturing environment, but we will consider applications from people who don’t have this because we will be training you in full. It would be good if you have a Forklift Truck license/experience.



The Opportunity – Production Operatives:

Production Operatives will form part of a shift team and have specific duties within an assigned section although, with time, training will be given within other areas of production leading to multi skills development to suit the business. There will be opportunities in different sections, which allows people to acquire new skills and gain a better understanding of production processes.

You will need physical fitness, some strength and dexterity to succeed in the job. There may be a need to lift heavy objects, assemble parts, or engage in repetitive movements throughout a shift. The successful applicant will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications.

Although training will be provided in general, previous experience in production would be a distinct advantage with candidates showing experience in using production machinery. A forklift licence would be beneficial, but training would be provided for the right candidate.

•    Running a semi-automated mixing plant manufacturing a wide range of products.

•    Running an automated filling line. Setting up and operation of specialised production machinery, ensuring each machine is always running effectively and safely.

•    Wrapping and stacking pallet in readiness for transfer to the warehouse.

Nicholls & Clarke Group are currently looking for an Operations Director to join their team, in Burslem, Stoke on Trent.



Founded in 1875 Nicholls and Clarke Group have grown to become the UK's largest National manufacturer and distributor of high quality building products, specialising in tiles and bathrooms. The group has an export division that has supplied Nicobond products to many parts of the world over the last 60 years.



Due to retirement, an opportunity has arisen, for an Operations Director to join a well-established, successful and growing manufacturing team.



Reporting to a main Board Director, the role will centre around the overseeing and co-ordinating of daily operations across the entire site, including quality and health & safety.



Applicants must have experience in leading a team in a manufacturing environment with the responsibility of achieving daily targets, including quality and health & safety



Key Responsibilities include:




  • Build positive relationships with all onsite colleagues

  • Maintain accurate factory gate costing data, so Directors can price potential volume customers

  • Engage in meetings with existing or potential customers either on site or at their premises

  • Collaborate with branch managers at our Distribution Centres, N & C Tiles and Bathrooms Store as well as group Sales Managers

  • Oversee a click and collect facility/trade counter at the factory

  • Develop a deep understanding of our commercial office operations as well as our Sage and Kerridge operating systems

  • Plan the daily production schedule with the production manager, including labour allocation, machinery setup and ensuring the availability of materials and packaging

  • Lead the Health & Safety team alongside two other IOSH qualified managers

  • Negotiate with suppliers and their representatives to secure the best buying rates

  • Motivate employees and assist production management in addressing performance or personnel concerns

  • Oversee induction and training of new employees, including safe methods of working and adherence to quality standards

  • Support the escalation and investigation of quality issues alongside the technical department

  • Actively support production management and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing

  • Carry out COSHH risk assessments of raw materials with the technical department to ensure that personnel are provided with the correct PPE

  • Ensure production management keeps factory processes up to date, and document COSHH risk assessments

  • Oversee warehousing and distribution operations

The Role - Warehouse Operative – Forklift Driver - Backshift:



As the Warehouse Operative/ Forklift Driver you will assist and have a flexible approach in all aspects of the warehouse operation.



 



The shift pattern for this role will be:



Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week - from 12.00 noon to 10.00pm



 



We handle Sanitaryware, Tiles, Adhesives and Ironmongery for replenishing our pick faces during the afternoon and evenings.



 



Key responsibilities will include:




  • Picking orders and building pallets and checking orders

  • Replenishment of stock

  • Storing stock safely

  • Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

  • Working as part of a team

  • Ensuring you comply with the companies Health & Safety requirements

  • Personal protective clothing and equipment to be worn at all times

  • Work as part of our Builders Merchants team of staff



Key Requirements, Experience and Licences:
